Pramukh Swami
Maharaj is the fifth spiritual successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan
and the present leader of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam
Swaminarayan Sanstha. He represents the Hindu Tradition in all
its pristine purity and glory.
Ever since Pramukh
Swami Maharaj inspired and consecrated the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan
Mandir, London, on 20 August 1995, the mandir has become a source
of moral and spiritual inspiration. During its construction,
every part of the mandir and the smallest process connected
with it were thoroughly pondered upon, scrutinised and energetically
followed up by Swamishri to the point of perfection. Behind
his epic effort lay a deep wish to fulfill the dream of his
Guru, Yogiji Maharaj.
Even today, at
the age of 86, he continuously travels in society to inspire countless individuals. Having personally counselled
810,000 people, read and replied to 500,000 letters,
Swamishri has also visited 15,500 villages and 250,000
homes. He has personally inspired and consecrated 700 mandirs
and initiated 780 youths into the sadhu-fold.
His compassion
for humanity, deep concern for its problems and conscious efforts
to alleviate them, have inspired international moral, social,
educational, cultural and spiritual projects. His striking humility,
wisdom and simplicity have touched many world religious and
national leaders. But most important is his quiet, undisturbed
love and realisation of God. His generosity and affection rises
beyond all borders of nation, religion, race and reason. Pramukh
Swami Maharaj is universally revered and respected, for he has
a heart wherein the whole world can live.
